Safeguarding & Child Protection

At Little Muddy Me the safety and welfare of every child in our care is our highest priority. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and ensuring that any concerns about a child's safety or wellbeing are taken seriously and acted upon promptly.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputies

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Caroline Reay

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL): Sam Denbigh

Our DSL and deputies are responsible for overseeing safeguarding concerns, providing guidance to staff and ensuring that appropriate action is taken in accordance with our safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Our Role in Safeguarding

All staff have a responsibility to remain alert to signs of abuse, neglect, exploitation or other safeguarding concerns. Any concern, allegation or disclosure will be taken seriously, recorded appropriately and reported to the DSL or deputy without delay.

Where there is a concern that a child may be suffering, or is at risk of suffering, harm, Little Muddy Me will make an appropriate referral to the relevant children's social care team, safeguarding authority or other statutory agency, in accordance with current safeguarding guidance. Where a child is in immediate danger, the police or emergency services will be contacted as appropriate.

We will work with relevant local authorities, referring schools, social workers and other professionals to share information appropriately, support the child and monitor safeguarding concerns and agreed actions. We will follow up referrals where necessary to help ensure concerns are addressed and the child's safety and welfare remain central to decision-making.

Safeguarding concerns will be handled confidentially and information will be shared with the appropriate people and agencies on a need-to-know basis, where necessary to protect a child.

Our safeguarding and child protection procedures are reviewed regularly to ensure they reflect current statutory guidance and good practice.

If you have a safeguarding concern about a child attending Little Muddy Me, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead using the contact details provided by the provision. If a child is in immediate danger, call 999.

We are based in a forest area next to Bray Lake. If you put a postcode into a satnav it may take you to the wrong location.

When you turn onto Monkey Island Lane, (off the A308) follow the road all the way (past Summerleaze concrete plant on your left, Bray Marina on your right) until you reach a fork in the road, take the left fork towards Bray lake. You will go over a small bridge and our car park will be on the left. You will see a large 6ft high wooden fence at the end of the car park and this is the location of Little Muddy Me.
