Enrollment Process
To enquire about a place for a child who attends your school, please email us at wackywoodsap@gmail.com or message us via our Get in Touch page.
Upon receiving your enquiry, a member of our team will contact you to discuss the child’s needs and possible placement options. If the child has an EHCP, we would ask for sight of this documentation so that we can review and assess whether we feel we are able to meet need within our provision.
If we feel that Wacky Woods may be an appropriate placement, we will invite the referring school, parent/carer and child to visit our setting. This provides an opportunity for everyone to explore our outdoor environment, meet our on-site lead and discuss the child’s needs in more detail to assess whether we are the right provision for them.
For children who are registered at a school, the referring school will be required to complete its own safeguarding, quality assurance, and due diligence checks before a placement can commence. This will typically include a visit to our provision and the completion of any documentation required by the school or Local Authority. Placements cannot begin until these checks have been completed and all parties are satisfied that the placement is appropriate and safe.
Should all parties agree that Wacky Woods is a suitable placement, we will then issue our new starter paperwork to begin the onboarding process.
Wacky Woods is a non-educational alternative provision with a strong focus on SEMH support. We provide a nurturing, outdoor-based environment that supports emotional wellbeing, confidence building, emotional regulation and positive engagement for children who may find mainstream settings challenging.
All placements begin with an initial 6-week trial period, which is reviewed to ensure that we are able to meet the child’s needs appropriately. Following this period, if the placement continues, a 6-week notice period will apply should the placement need to end.
